LWF’s education program assists teachers to engage students on water stewardship issues and inspire youth action. We offer in-class presentations and funding for water-related learning, plus opportunities to collaborate with individual educators and/or schools on more customized partnerships and initiatives.

Update: The Standing Committee on Social and Economic Development is set to meet on Wednesday, Oct. 25, and Thursday, Oct. 26 to hear public presentations on Bill 24. LWF has registered to present. We urge all our supporters to contact their MLAs in advance of these meetings.

Another busy summer is coming to a close. As always, we had a great time visiting lakeside communities, taking part in events (and hosting our own!) and meeting the many supporters whose passion and commitment drive our foundation and make a healthy Lake Winnipeg possible. WOW. Victoria Beach broke its own record with 181 walkers participating in this year's event! Together, these passionate lake-lovers raised a whopping $21,696 - and the pledges are still pouring in! We are so very grateful for the amazing community support. Way to go, VB!

A big thank you to lake-lovers from the community of Dunnottar who braved the heat to take part in our 2017 Walk for Water. Together, we raised $5,384 (and counting!) in support of a healthy Lake Winnipeg!
Now an annual event, Beats on the Beach 2017 is just around the corner! Join with other lake-lovers at Saffies General Store in Albert Beach on Friday. Aug. 12 and be entertained by a free concert featuring muisc from Fever Rose, Jordan Yarish, and Mama G and the Majors. Don’t forget to treat your sweet tooth, as well, with Saffies tempting dessert auction. Delicious pies, cakes, cookies and homemade jams will be up for bid - with all money raised donated to the Lake Winnipeg Foundation!
